University of Strathclyde Kendo Club

Welcome and thanks for visiting.

Strathclyde Kendo Club is a kendo dojo open to Strathclyde students and graduates. We train twice a week, with members ranging from complete beginners up to Dan grades. Our club’s aim is to promote kendo and to hopefully foster a lifelong love for the sport among members.

Kendo is a martial art derived from the Japanese art of swordsmanship (Kenjutsu). It has changed and grown a lot since the 18th Century. Kendo is a member sport in the World Combat Games, and 48 nations competed in the 2015 World Kendo Championship.

Strathclyde Kendo train twice a week in the Royal College Gym, and unavoidably find ourselves in the pub afterwards. For more information or to arrange a visit please or visit our Facebook Page.
